This Policy explains how The Freedom Fight (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website, app, and Community Forum (“Services”).

  • We Collect Information You Provide. Things like your account details, check-ins, posts, messages, and any information you voluntarily share.
  • We Collect Technical Data Automatically. Such as device information, app usage, and cookies to help us improve the Services.

  • We Share Data Carefully. We share data with service providers (like hosting and payment processors), accountability partners or group leaders that you choose or who are part of your program, and when required by law (including mandated reporting of suspected child sexual abuse material).
  • We Use Data to Run and Improve the Services. Including providing your account, tailoring content, moderating the community, and communicating with you.
  • You Have Choices and Rights. You can update some data in your account and may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
  • We Take Security Seriously, But No System Is Perfect. We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use The Freedom Fight Services.

1. Who We Are and Scope of This Policy

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • Enforce our legal rights and agreements.

3.5 For Research and Improvement

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our curriculum, tools, and user experience;
  • Create de-identified or aggregated data for internal reporting, ministry planning, and program evaluation.

We do not use de-identified or aggregated data in a way that is intended to identify you personally.

  • Respond to lawful requests from government authorities;
  • Meet legal, regulatory, and tax obligations;
  • Fulfill mandatory reporting duties where required by law.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (For EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your personal information may include:

  • Performance of a contract – to provide and operate the Services you request.
  • Legitimate interests – such as improving our Services, ensuring safety, and supporting our ministry efforts, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent – for certain types of optional communications or processing.
  • Legal obligations – to comply with applicable laws, including reporting requirements.

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following ways:

5.1 Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us:

  • Host and maintain our website and app,
  • Process payments (if applicable),
  • Send emails and other communications,
  • Provide analytics and security services.

These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and are expected to protect it appropriately.

5.2 Accountability Partners, Group Leaders, and Program Context

As part of The Freedom Fight program, some of your information (such as check-ins or specific tool responses) will be shared with:

  • Accountability partners you designate,
  • Group leaders or mentors associated with your program,
  • Church or organizational partners who have arranged for you to use the program under their care.

We share only what is reasonably necessary to support your recovery and discipleship within that context.

5.3 Community and Public Areas

When you post in the Community Forum or groups, other members with access to that space may see:

  • Your display name or username,
  • Your posts and comments, and
  • The time and date of your activity.

Please use discretion when sharing personal details in any Community space.

5.4 Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights

We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that doing so is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with a law, regulation, or legal request;
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of The Freedom Fight, our users, or others;
  • Enforce our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines.

5.5 Mandatory Reporting

We may be required or permitted to disclose information shared through the Services when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law or to protect the safety of individuals. This may include situations involving suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a minor; abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an elderly or disabled adult; domestic or family violence; sexual assault or sexual exploitation; human trafficking; or credible threats of harm to yourself or others.

In such circumstances, we may report information to appropriate authorities, contact emergency services, or take other steps we believe are reasonably necessary to protect individuals or comply with legal obligations.

If we become aware of content that appears to involve child sexual abuse material or exploitation of minors, we may be required by law to report it to appropriate authorities, such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States.

In addition, some group leaders, staff members, or volunteers may be independently subject to mandatory reporting laws based on their profession, role, or location. These individuals may be required by law to report certain information to appropriate authorities even if you request that the information remain confidential. By using the Services and participating in any group, coaching, or leader communication, you acknowledge and agree to these limits.

Nothing in the Services creates a confidential or legally privileged relationship (such as therapist-patient or attorney-client privilege) that would prevent us or individual leaders from making disclosures where we believe they are appropriate or required.

5.6 Groups, Premium Groups, Leader Communications, and Coaching

Certain Services may include paid or invitation-only online groups, cohorts, or classes (“Premium Groups”) as well as optional one-on-one communications or coaching sessions with group leaders.

These offerings are designed to provide faith-based support, accountability, and discipleship in the context of recovery from addiction and related struggles.

Because Premium Groups and leader interactions involve discussion of personal matters, the following additional privacy considerations apply:

5.6.1 Information Shared in Groups and 1:1 Communications

You may voluntarily share personal or sensitive information during Premium Group sessions, group chats or forums, direct messages with leaders, and optional one-on-one coaching or support sessions. This information may include details about addiction, sexual behavior, relationships, mental health, and spiritual life. Information shared in these contexts may be visible to group leaders and, in group settings, to other participants. You should use discretion when sharing personal information through the Services.

5.6.2 Nature of Leader Communications

Group leaders may communicate with participants through messaging features, email, or scheduled one-on-one sessions to provide encouragement, accountability, and program-related support. These communications are part of a faith-based discipleship and recovery program and are not clinical or confidential therapy services. Messages and communications between you and a leader may be stored within the Services or related systems and may be accessible to authorized ministry staff for purposes of supervision, safety, training, or program administration.

5.6.3 Confidentiality Expectations

We encourage leaders and participants to treat personal information shared in Premium Groups or one-on-one communications with care and respect. However, Premium Groups and coaching interactions are not clinical counseling environments, and we cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain confidentiality. Leader communications may be reviewed internally for safety, training, or administrative purposes. By participating, you acknowledge these limitations and agree to use discretion when sharing sensitive information.

5.6.4 Recordings and Administrative Records

Group sessions and one-on-one sessions are generally not recorded unless we provide notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law. We may retain limited administrative information related to participation, such as attendance, scheduling information, communication history, or support requests, to operate and improve the Services.

5.6.5 Use of Information

Information shared in Premium Groups or leader communications may be used to facilitate participation and support, provide ministry follow-up and encouragement, improve programming and resources, and maintain the safety and integrity of the Services. We do not use identifiable personal recovery information in public-facing materials without consent, except as required by law.

5.6.6 Safety and Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information shared in Premium Groups or leader communications if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, respond to threats of harm, protect the safety of participants or others, or enforce our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines.

5.7 Limits to Confidentiality and Safety Reporting

While we seek to create a safe and respectful environment for sharing, participation in the Services—including Premium Groups, leader communications, and one-on-one sessions—is not the same as confidential communication with a licensed counselor, therapist, or physician.

We encourage participants and leaders to treat personal information with care. However, there are important limits to confidentiality.

We may review, use, or disclose information shared through the Services if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or regulatory requirements; fulfill mandatory reporting obligations; respond to situations involving suspected abuse, exploitation, or neglect of a minor; address credible threats of harm to yourself or others; protect the safety, rights, or well-being of participants, leaders, or the public; or enforce our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines.

Leaders and staff may escalate concerns to appropriate ministry staff when safety issues arise. In certain circumstances, we may contact emergency services, appropriate authorities, or other responsible parties if we believe there is a serious risk of harm.

Because our Services address addiction and related struggles, you should not rely on any part of the Services for crisis support or emergency intervention. If you are in immediate danger or crisis, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis hotline.

By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree to these limits on confidentiality.

5.8 Business Transfers

If The Freedom Fight is involved in a reorganization, merger, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a similar protective policy.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in;
  • Remember your preferences;
  • Understand how you navigate the Services;
  • Improve performance and security.

You can control many cookies through your browser settings. Some functionalities may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Services,
  • Maintain legitimate ministry and business records,
  • Comply with legal obligations,
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

We may maintain de-identified or aggregated data for longer periods for analysis and ministry planning.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Services at your own risk.

9. Your Choices and Rights

9.1 Access and Updates

You may be able to access and update certain account information directly within the Services. For other information, you can contact us using the details in Section 12.

9.2 Email Preferences

You can opt out of non-essential email communications (such as newsletters and certain ministry updates) by:

  • Clicking “unsubscribe” in the email, or
  • Contacting us using the information in Section 12.

We may still send you important administrative messages related to your account or use of the Services.

9.3 Rights for Certain Regions

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as:

  • The right to request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • The right to request correction or deletion of your personal information;
  • The right to object to or restrict certain processing;
  • The right to data portability.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some requests may be denied where we have overriding legitimate grounds or legal obligations.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for individuals 14 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are 14–17, you should use the Services only with the involvement and consent of your parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be responsible for your use of the Services and your compliance with this policy and our Terms of Use.

The Community Forum is restricted to adults 18 years and older.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable age without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it as soon as reasonably possible.

11. International Users and Data Transfers

If you access the Services from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in that country.

By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Where required by law, we will implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
