People are at different places on their path to freedom, whether they are unaware, in denial, or ready to tackle their addiction. These resources are a great introduction to the topic of pornography. As a leader, you can use these to directly help someone or present it as an opportunity to be equipped. Sexual sin and pornography are so pervasive in the world today, and we need more believers free and equipped to help others find freedom.
The 30-Day Challenge
This free email service delivers 10-minutes of biblical, clinical, and practical content that mixes video, scripture, articles, and testimonies to support the challenge to go 30 days without porn or other unwanted sexual behaviors. Just as with our more comprehensive Freedom Fight Program, this ‘mini course’ can be done by an individual or with a small group. Our 30DC Leader’s Guide helps you facilitate a group through a 5 weeks period with simple discussion questions. This resource is particularly helpful for helping and equipping others in a non-shaming way who might be lacking conviction or may not be quite ready for a bigger commitment.

Sit Walk Stand Video Bible Study
“Sit Walk Stand: Living Out Your Identity in Christ in a Sexualized Culture” is a six session Bible Study in Ephesians. Paul not only explains the truths about our position in Christ, but he gives practical steps to make living out our identity in Christ a lifestyle. The Ephesians lived in a sexualized culture which has great application for today’s believer in a pornified world.

The Freedom Fight Book
For those looking for a book study as the on-ramp to the main program, this is a great option. This is a 13-week study of the entire book (17 chapters) written by The Freedom Fight founder, Ted Shimer. The first section of the book looks at the Brutal Realities of Porn’s Impact, and the second section focuses on the six roots of a sex/pornography addiction and the solutions that address them. This is a great resource to begin taking steps towards finding freedom while gaining a holistic understanding of the issue.

Equipping Video
This 30 minute teaching video equips people to understand the pervasiveness, destructiveness and addictiveness of pornography as well as the biblical path that leads to freedom. It educates, de-shames and gives hope. We all need to be better equipped in this area to help others find freedom and this teaching is a good place to start with your staff or for the body as a whole.

Finding freedom through discipleship
We have seen God move in unbelievable ways when men or women have the opportunity to connect in a small group. The confidentiality, being fully known, developing authentic relationships, spurred on to a deeper walk with Christ, meditating on His word as a lifestyle, growing in their identity in Christ, and learning practical tools creates an opportunity to disciple men or women at a deep level. David’s testimony below is representative of countless similar stories for which we praise God:
“I’ve been addicted to porn and masturbation for around 15 years. I actively tried for many years to break free by joining accountability groups, recovery programs, biblical counseling and even saw a certified sexual addiction therapist. All of these solutions were helpful in some ways, but none of them offered the resources I needed to heal and find lasting freedom from my addiction.
It wasn’t until I joined a Freedom Fight course offered through my church that I began experiencing freedom. I’d never before come across a more well rounded and comprehensive recovery program as Freedom Fight. The program addresses all facets of porn addiction and provided me with very practical as well as biblical resources to help uncover wounds of my past and grow in my awareness of internal emotions and external triggers making me vulnerable to temptation.
Before using Freedom Fight I struggled to open up to my wife about my sexual sin. After committing myself to the core practices in this program, I learned the power of living in honesty about my addiction. Through regular confession to my wife, I was able to rebuild the trust that my porn addiction threatened. She now walks with me as a partner and encourager in my fight for purity.
Furthermore, God has used Freedom Fight to transform my walk with Him. Before going through the program I was still a slave to the bondage of my sin. Now I walk confidently in my purity as Christ calls me to. I’ve now had seven months of abstinence from porn and masturbation and am helping other men find freedom as well.”
