The 1 Principle of Overcoming Porn That So Many Neglect

America, are you listening?

I will tell you something that it seems we work hard to NOT notice.

Ready?

We have a porn problem.

  • The United States is by far the largest consumer of pornographic content in the world.
  • The biggest porn site’s US traffic statistics are high enough annually that EVERY man, woman, and child could visit 25 times. That is just one website!

We love to tell the story of the one who faces an obstacle, digs down deep inside of themself, and overcomes it. These are the good stories, the ones we love- not only to hear- but the ones we love to tell.

Hollywood sells them, authors write of them, and business leaders hawk strategy after strategy to help you get over that hill-the one that is keeping you from being the best version of you.

Although these stories have value, they can become, for us, a template for isolated living when we do not have what it takes within ourselves to overcome the challenges we are facing. At The Freedom Fight, we are here to help when you are ready to face the reality that you cannot overcome porn by the sheer application of your will.

If you could’ve, you would’ve.

Research reveals there are at least three reasons why so many people are never able to quit porn use:

  1. You Go it AloneQuit Porn: Out of shame or fear of consequences, many attempts to quit porn on their own. Opening up about this struggle seems particularly difficult for so many. But accountability from others is a vital piece of the equation for overcoming porn.
  2. You Neglect Spiritual Disciplines: Many followers of Christ fail to realize the impact the scriptures have on their recovery. They claim the promise that the truth will set them free, but they forget the condition Jesus gave for the promise. But there is a condition Jesus gives to the promise, “the truth will set you free.” The phrase before the promise is, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Getting in God’s word and soaking in His truth is essential to walk in the fullness of freedom.

Most of us were likely already aware of these first two and have probably attempted to incorporate them into our lives and attempts to overcome porn. But at The Freedom Fight, we believe it’s this last reason that keeps so many locked into the binge/purge cycle of porn, unable to find the freedom Christ offers.

  • You Never Address the Roots: You must get beyond behavior modification and dig deeper down to the roots of the porn problem to find freedom. There are six roots of pornography addiction that must be addressed for lasting freedom to take place.

When you are beyond trying harder, we are here.

We don’t really offer a magic formula and shy away from over-promising.

It will not be easy, but we will guide you along a proven path to freedom.

Whether you are ready for one of our free online video-based programs that holistically address the six roots of addiction or just a two-minute assessment, we are ready to help when you are ready for freedom.
